American Innovative Neverlate 7-Day Alarm Clock
The neverlate solves a problem that we all have in common: the demands of today’s active lifestyle often require a varying wake schedule. The neverlate 7-day alarm clock is the first alarm clock to offer seven independent, daily alarms to accommodate your varied morning routine. An analog fm/am tuner works in conjunction with a downward firing speaker which results in a fuller tone when in a small package. (Fits easily on your nightstand: 5-inch square footprint). Customizable snooze allows you to choose your preferred snooze duration between one and thirty minutes. Use the sleep timer to automatically turn off the radio after a user-specified amount of time. User Reviews about American Innovative Neverlate 7-Day Alarm Clock
I decided to buy this alarm clock because I was so sick of how unreliable my cheap alarm clocks have been lately. I was trying to decide between this one and the Neverlate Executive, and in some ways I wish I had gotten the Executive, but I am still happy with this one.
One of my favorite features of this alarm is the ability to select how long I want the snooze to last. I hate not being able to adjust it on other clocks because it never seems like the right amount of time for me. It's also nice to be able to change it sometimes so that I don't get too used to one amount of time and get into too deep of a sleep.
Setting up to 7 days at a time is a really nice feature, too, although I still find myself checking them all obsessively, so it hasn't really saved me that much time in the long run. Part of the reason is that my schedule changes constantly, so I can't set it once and forget it week to week. But for anyone who has the same schedule each week but different each day, it would certainly be helpful.
One thing that I was worried about with this alarm clock was that the buzzer might not be loud enough, because I saw a video demo of it and the alarm didn't sound very loud. It has woken me up easily every day in the month I've been using it. The volume for the buzzer is not adjustable, which could be a drawback, but I haven't found it to be a problem. You can also set the radio for the alarm and adjust the volume on that.
I had read another review that mentioned the On/Off button being too close to the snooze button, but I brushed it off thinking that it wouldn't be a problem for me because I would look at the button I was pressing. I was wrong about that. I've accidentally turned the alarm off twice now, but luckily I woke up and realized it before it made me late. I will probably try to concoct something to keep myself from hitting that button accidentally while still in zombie mode.
All in all, I am really happy that I decided to go with the Neverlate instead of another alarm clock, but I do wish that I had gotten the Executive version and will probably upgrade to it at some point. The main feature I like on that one is the descending snooze - I'm a big snoozer, so I think that would really help force me out of bed. Also, the Executive has a digital radio (this one has the analog radio) which would come in handy if you plan to use the radio and want to change stations easily, and it just has more customizable features all around that I would really like.
This clock isn't a lot to look at, but it's not awful, either. It also is a good, compact size. I have a tiny nightstand, so that's important to me, and I don't feel like it gets in the way or takes up too much space. I have seen some complaints about the dials not turning easily enough (or too easily) and I think they're fine exactly as they are. I wouldn't want the time dial to turn too easily or it would be a pain to get the exact right time. It's also nice to have the clicking feedback so you can feel how far you're turning it.
Bottom line: If you're looking for an alarm clock that is reliable and can handle 7 days' worth of alarms at once, this one is great. If you tend to hit the snooze button too many times and oversleep, you might want to go a step up and get the Executive version. I definitely see how the company used customer suggestions to make the Executive. This one is definitely worth the money, and is making me see that the Executive probably is worth the extra money if you like the features. Best alarm clock I've been able to find! -- Has lived up to my expectations.
I puchased this product for my brother. He had trouble getting to work on time with his varied schedule. This alarm was just the right thing for him. -- Never Late
I'd been looking for a small alarm clock that did not appear to have been designed in 1983.
Pros:
Small, cool design, several smart features, including "alarm check" which lets you easily check if your alarm is set properly.
Good alarm volume.
Cons: No brightness setting. A little too easy to accidentally snooze -- "Off" is right next to "snooze." Design is a little bit more "dorky" than cool. 7-day setting can be annoying to set up at first, especially if you do not need different times every day. No big deal, though.
I like it. -- A great little clock!
Very good on all levels; sound quality, small footprint; easy to access controls; straight-forward programming, display is easily viewed. My only complaint is that when the radio alarm activates there is a 'pop' noise which can be startling to some degree, but you get used to it. Considering all the problems this innovative design solves, it is a winner. -- Almost perfect
Good product, does everything it is advertised to do. I can set alarms for different days easily. Only drawback is that the clock has a small display which can be hard to see from across the room. -- Never late with Neverlate
