The 2 alarm clocks that I received have slightly different buttons and features. The thin plastic battery case does not seem sturdy, and it is difficult to pry open the case and remove the battery. However I am actually glad that the clock does not have a calender because the large numbers for time are easier to read; the alarm is not terribly loud which is good for light sleepers. But I would have preferred a button for a light source. Improving the battery case an adding a light button with the power of only 1 AA battery would be a nice improvement. -- Functional Alarm Clock

i've had this alarm clock for three years. the amazing thing is i have never ever had to change my battery. and i set my alarm every week day.

good: solid. doesn't eat batteries. durability - i've dropped it on the ground several times and after putting the battery back in, it has kept on ticking. runs on one battery.

bad: clunky buttons, it could be louder, if you don't hear it and it goes off it shuts itself off and you will sleep in.

i've been pleased. i won't buy it again, but it was good for what i paid and very durable. next time, i will go for something louder and a bit less flimsy. not that it is too flimsy, but it's time for an upgrade. -- was pretty good
