Purchased the 33100 in 2008. The alarm's volume sold me on this clock. It is NOT a loud buzzing noise like many clocks and doesn't startle me awake. Volume starts out low and increases in increments if not disengage soon enough. Good clock for heavy sleepers, of which I am not. However, a few times I have not heard to lower volume and woke up to the louder volume. I use the clock mostly to administer medications to an elderly person. Time to shop for another 33100, as the alarm quit working. After all, manmade equipment was never intended to last a lifetime. I see that Equity makes the 33101 with luminance numbers and I might purchase this. If it is as good as the 33100 I will not be disappointed. -- Best alarm clock I've ever used

This clock is exactly what I was looking for. A background lighted dial. However when I plugged it in, the one light in the background was under the "9" and no light was on the otherside (over the "3") rendering only half the clock dial lit.....impossible to see what time it was across the room, if you woke up in the middle of the night! I would buy this clock if it was properly lit. -- Disappointed

This clock replaced a similar clock that has been in use 30 years. I like this type of clock because it stops when there is a power failure; this indicates to me how long the power was out. Great price and difficult to find in retail stores. -- electric clock
